Bijayini Satpathy

Formerly the Principal Dancer of India’s storied Nrityagram Dance Ensemble, Bijayini Satpathy joins Duke Performances this December for a week-long residency and world premiere of her solo debut. One of the world’s foremost dancers and dance educators, Satpathy will collaborate with the Dance department to bring master classes to Duke undergraduates, MFA students, and community dancers throughout the Triangle. She will also appear in conversation to discuss her career and research, offering an intimate look at her choreographic process and the work she developed throughout the pandemic.
