The Rosebuds come home to North Carolina for the launch of their new album, due out this summer. On their forthcoming album, their familiar blend of nuanced pop with folk elements has come under a new spell — the powerful influence of soul music. The Rosebuds formed the week after founding members Ivan Howard and Kelly Crisp got married. Since 2003, they’ve released four proper LPs, plus plenty of EPs, singles, and one-off projects — including a Christmas album and a full-length cover of Sade’s Love Deluxe. Along the way, Crisp and Howard divorced, but they continue making music together. The Rosebuds are Ivan Howard (vocals, guitar, drums, bass, keyboards & programming) and Kelly Crisp (vocals, guitar, drums, keyboards & accordion).
