Orquesta K’Che

Wednesday, September 7, 2022 | 6:30 pm

American Tobacco Campus

Featuring a pre-show salsa dance lesson by Jack Wolf at 5:30 p.m.

Orquesta K’Che (kah-CHAY) is the brainchild of percussionist and leader Billy Marrero and has become the Triangle’s Latin Party Dance Band of choice. When on stage, the eleven-piece band—representing Venezuela, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the USA—brings energy and variety to their shows. With the aim of being an all-purpose dance band, their repertoire features Cumbia, Merengue, Bolero, Latin Jazz, and Hot Salsa, traversing the genres and charts by playing tight, disciplined arrangements.

Orquesta K’Che will kick off a series of four free concerts at the American Tobacco Campus, hosted every Wednesday during the month of September. Does the music get you moving? Salsa instructor Zach Wolf will teach a free dance lesson one hour before the show begins.

These outdoor concerts are free; no registration is needed. Bring a chair, a blanket, and visit pop-ups by Parker & Otis, Boricua Soul, and Mellow Mushroom for drinks and dinner. The amphitheater is the grassy area below the Lucky Strike water tower and parking is available in one of three nearby decks.
