Community Dance Workshop with Nrityagram Dance Ensemble & Chitrasena Dance Company

Pavithra Reddy of Nrityagram Dance Ensemble (southern India), one of the world’s leading dance companies, is joined by Thaji Dias of Chitrasena Dance Company (Sri Lanka) for a workshop on the fundamentals of Odissi and Kandyan dance technique. This free and open-to-the-public event will take place in the second-floor Dance Cube in Duke’s new Rubenstein Arts Center. All community dancers with a background in South Asian classical dance are welcome to attend.

Parking is available directly across the street from the Rubenstein Arts Center in the Campus Drive Lot, approximately a one-minute walk. The entrance to this lot is on Anderson Street, just north of Campus Drive, facing the west side of the Rubenstein Arts Center.

The joint residency by Nrityagram and Chitrasena will culminate in a pair of weekend performances of their collaborative work, Sahāra, at Duke’s Reynolds Industries Theater on Saturday, September 22 and Sunday, September 23. Tickets and info available HERE.
