2005 ADF Scripps Lifetime Achievement winner Bill T. Jones presents Chapel/Chapter, “a riveting experience” deemed “the most affecting, the most disturbing, the most powerful, and the most compassionate work [by Jones to date]” (New York Times).
Drawing on dance, live music (scored by Daniel Bernard Roumain and others), and printed documents—court transcripts, newspaper articles, and jailhouse interviews—the work explores our country's court and prison system by retelling three stories.

Cummins Wide – an exhibition featuring Bruce Jackson’s photographs from Cummins Prison Farm in Lincoln County, Arkansas that runs January 17–April 6, 2008 at Duke’s Center for Documentary Studies – is presented in conversation with the performance of Chapel/Chapter.
