CHAMBER ARTS SOCIETY
In Durham, At Duke,
the Finest Ensembles in the World
A season of distinction
As a member of the CAS Advisory Board for a decade now, I have had the opportunity to watch past Directors Ruth Blum and Robert Bryant make this concert series the finest in the country. Ruth must be given the lion’s share of the credit; Robert’s expertise and imagination have served us wonderfully well. In taking up the Directorship, I shall do my utmost to live up to the standards of quality I have inherited from them. We are all in their debt.
I predict you will find this year’s program to be one of our finest. If you are a long-time CAS member, you will re-encounter old friends, widely recognized as ranking among the world’s finest chamber groups. If you are new to the Series, I feel sure you will be dazzled and moved by the musicianship and the artistry you will encounter.
As our sixty-second season unfolds, we on the Board are grateful for your past support and urge you to continue helping us present to this community the best there is in chamber music. Enjoy the year.
