Music in the Gardens: Caleb Caudle

Winston-Salem singer, songwriter, and bandleader Caleb Caudle spent years shaping and sharpening his approach to country music before arriving, last year, at a triumph called Carolina Ghost. These eleven songs, which earned raves from Rolling Stone and The Huffington Post, recall a classic truck-stop mixtape, full of yearning steel guitar, assured and direct choruses, and first-person protagonists who have seen better days and expect to again. Newly sober and back in North Carolina, Caudle delivers it all with believable grit, as if he’s singing these songs during the long drive home.
