Music in the Gardens: Flock of Dimes

Jenn Wasner emerged a decade ago as the sharp guitarist and soft singer of Baltimore duo Wye Oak, whose intricate pop often felt like a blissful fever dream. In the years since, Wasner has continually challenged herself, trading the guitar for bass and electronics and pushing her songs outside of indie pop expectations. That quest comes full circle on 2016’s open-ended and affecting If You See Me, Say Yes, her solo debut as Flock of Dimes and first full-length since relocating to Durham. Wasner creates imaginative, magnetic pop, as driven by guitar as it is by keyboards. For her and her audience alike, this will be a real backyard summer party.

"On her bright and self-assured solo debut, Flock of Dimes' Jenn Wasner offers the most all-encompassing document of her tastes yet, incorporating dreamy indie rock and digital pop."
