decasia
Monday, November 7, 2011 | 7:00 pm
Carolina Theatre (309 W. Morgan St.)
Tickets: $5

Made from deteriorating reels of film, Bill Morrison’s experimental film Decasia, a symphony in decay. With a score composed by Bang on a Can’s Michael Gordon, this “haunting modern masterpiece” (The Guardian (UK)) will be presented in a rare screening, followed by a Q&A with Morrison.

“Bill Morrison’s Decasia is a rare thing: a movie with avant-garde and universal appeal … The film is a fierce dance of destruction. Its flame-like, roiling black-and-white inspires trembling and gratitude.”
