The Ciompi Quartet, Duke’s resident string quartet are, Eric Pritchard (violin), Hsiao-Mei Ku (violin), Jonathan Bagg (viola), Fred Raimi (cello).  The New York Times recently praised the ensemble—at Duke since 1965—for their “genuine warmth of expression” and “effortless sense of coordination.”  During the summer season at Duke, the Quartet offers two concerts with special guests in the Garden’s intimate Kirby Horton Hall.

From May 28 to August 3, Duke Performances presents 10 concerts in the beautiful outdoor settings of the Sarah P. Duke Gardens and the Nasher Museum of Art.

From the classical music of the Ciompi Quartet, to the indie rock of Portastatic and the gospel brass band sound of the Madison Elites, Duke Performances offers a mix of music that is perfect to enjoy outdoors.
